Multi-Mechanical Trades Program Summary (Yorkton Campus):
Parkland College is pleased to offer the SIAST Multi-Mechanical Trades program designed for those individuals interested in entry level positions to service and maintain motive power equipment in the following mechanical trades: Heavy Equipment, Truck & Transport, Agricultural Machinery or Automotive Service.
Students learn the skills necessary to assemble, repair, service and maintain all types of heavy duty and automotive equipment through a combination of classroom instruction and hands on shop time. The course includes a two week on the job work experience component in an industrial setting upon completion of the classroom time. Students may apply for Level 1 Technical Training credit and trade time upon indenturing as an apprentice with the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission in one of the above trades.
Upon successful completion, SIAST credit will be granted for specific course modules provided marks of 60% or better have been achieved. Those wanting to become indentured apprentices will require a minimum 70% weighted average for the course.
