Diesel-Heavy Truck (DHT) Technician Program Summary:
Are you a hands-on learner who has a passion for mechanics? Let AAI help you develop the skills necessary to become an entry-level diesel-heavy truck (DHT) technician in as few as 60 weeks! Our DHT program offers flexible scheduling and affordable, practical training for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing diesel-powered medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses. Students will also be capable of performing diagnostics and maintenance services on hydraulic equipment, as well as truck and trailer refrigeration systems.

Our classes combine theory with practical application of hands-on skills. Students will learn the use of hand and specialty tools, the importance of shop safety procedures plus customer service and business communication skills. Our program is taught by professional instructors in simulated shop environments to help you develop the hands-on experience that employers seek. Upon completion, students should be prepared for the EPA 609 A/C Technician certification test and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training certification.

At AAI, we are committed to helping you build a strong foundation for your future success as a diesel-heavy truck technician. DHT program graduates will be qualified for entry-level employment in general diesel medium and heavy truck service positions and will be adequately trained in working with both computerized and conventional systems. Students must possess a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent.
